How often do your classes go outside?
Parkside Playschool is an all-weather play school. We believe it is imperative to health and development to spend time outdoors. You will find your child in their outdoor classroom about 50% of their day or more weather permitting. Our younger kiddos do spend less time outside when the weather is hotter or colder as they have less ability to regulate their body temperatures.
What programs do you offer?
We serve children 6 weeks to five years old. Aside from the individual classrooms, we also offer some special programs!

Do you offer part-time care?
Parkside provides the care that our community needs. We offer a limited number of spots for part-time weekly care for any 2 or 3 days of care. Though our enrollment is currently full, please complete a waitlist for the days you are needing and we can contact you when something becomes available.
What are your teacher to child ratios?
We have found the formula for exceptional childcare is exceptional teachers caring for a small number of children at a time. Even the best teacher with excellent classroom management can be limited by having too many children to care for at one time. We mitigate this by providing extra support where and when it is needed most. We want our well-equipped teachers to give your child the absolute BEST care and early education experience possible. While our classrooms are fully staffed with current ratios we do have float teachers available who step in to classrooms regularly to allow further support during transitions or for teachers to complete trainings.

How can I prepare my child for his or her first day?
We love to offer families a hands on orientation! Before the first day, you and your child are welcomed to join the class to see the classroom, get to know the teachers and meet with administration. You may participate in class activities and help your child get acquainted with the environment in the safety of your company or you can simply observe during this time!
What is the admission process?
Once we have a spot available we will contact you! We would love get to know each other and then fill out some paperwork. :)
1. If you haven't already, we will schedule a tour! We'll show you around and answer all your questions.
2. We will schedule an orientation for you and your child to visit the classroom in which they will be enrolled to meet the teachers and see the indoor & outdoor classrooms.
3. Fill out the enrollment form and provide your registration fee.
4. Before your first day, we will need:
- a copy of your child's immunization records or exemption form.

What level of education do your teachers have?
Our wonderful teachers have varying levels of education. Many have Associates or Bachelors degrees and even Masters in Early Childhood or a related field. Some have a Child Development Associates. All receive ongoing training in play based learning, respectful care (RIE), and Developmentally Appropriate Practice. All have experience caring for young children and have impressed our leadership team with their ability to connect with and gently guide young learners.
