Do you offer part-time care?

Parkside provides the care that our community needs. We offer a limited number of spots for part-time weekly care for any 2 or 3 days of care. Please call for current availability!

What are your teacher to child ratios?

We have found the formula for exceptional childcare is exceptional teachers caring for a small number of children at a time. Even the best teacher with excellent classroom management can be limited by having too many children to care for at one time. We mitigate this by providing extra support where and when it is needed most and also by keeping our class sizes small. We want our well-equipped teachers to give your child the absolute BEST care and early education experience possible. Here are our current ratios and class sizes (updated 1/22):

Classroom               Staff:Max Children      State Ratios

Babies                      3:10                               1:5

Waddlers Fall         2:10                               1:5

Waddlers Spring    2:12                               1:8

Toddlers                  2:14                                1:8

Juniors                     2:15                                1:12

Pre-K                        1:12 or 2:15                  1:15

How can I prepare my child for his or her first day?

Consider an accompanied introduction day! Before the first day, you are welcome to come with your child and spend some time in the classroom or on the playground together. You may participate in class activities and help your child get acquainted with the environment in the safety of your company or you can simply observe. Arrangements can even be made to do this on a weekend.

What level of education do your teachers have?

Our wonderful teachers have varying levels of education. Many have Associates or Bachelors degrees and even Masters in Early Childhood or a related field. Some have a Child Development Associates. All receive ongoing training  in play based learning, respectful care (RIE), and Developmentally Appropriate Practice. All have experience caring for young children and have impressed our leadership team with their ability to connect with and gently guide young learners. To find out more about your child's teachers, please reach out to them or someone in the office. We are always happy to share about why we picked our wonderful teachers.

What health and safety measures do you have in place to prevent the spread of COVID?

Preventing the spread of germs has always been a top priority for us. In addition to using our powerful boatnical disinfectant that kills germs in 30 seconds , we follow a strict health policy for children and staff. We also spend the majority of our days playing and learning outside, where sunshine and fresh air keep us safe. Our Parkside menu also offers nutritious whole foods that support a growing child's immune system.

Additional measures we have taken for COVID include:

-Daily Health checks for staff and children

-Ionizer installed in HVAC system along with all new duct work in 2020

-Air purifiers in each class and lobby

-Limiting people in the building

-Masks required for teachers indoors and recommended for older children indoors

-Outdoor pick-ups and drop-offs
