Teachers use an eclectic approach creating their lesson plans. We focus on the Play Based Learning Model where exposure is the key to learning. We do not use an academic based curriculum but rather use what the children are interested in to facilitate in-depth learning!
Infants 6 weeks up to 1.5 years are provided the opportunity to freely explore their environment. You will not see swings or other containers used in our care, simply babies choosing exactly how they take in their environment at their own pace. Teachers use baby sign language to encourage communication, and our babies focus on uninterrupted play to help develop attention span!
Walking and toddling 1-2 year olds are so fascinated with their environment and their peers. This classroom provides an opportunity to focus on social skills and how to communicate when we are feeling big emotions. Observing their personalities and language development unfold is so rewarding.
3-4 year olds are figuring out their roles within their school family. We foster that by allowing them to make decisions and have everyday input on what is going on in their environment. We encourage them to problem solve and to help other friends work through problems as well! Research shows good social skills are the foundation for optimal learning potential.
Our 4-5 year olds are the most inquisitive explorers. By taking topics we know the class is interested in, we expose them to a much deeper learning experience. We foster their Kindergarten readiness without them even realizing! All it takes is effort and intention in everything we set up in their environment.
